Although it may seem Halloween is still a ways away, I know it will be creeping up on us in no time! I’m not big on anything too spooky when it comes to decor, but love to lean into the holiday in a muted way.
How to add Halloween decor in a tasteful way
As with any holiday decor it’s easy to go from chic to childish real quick! When incorporating Halloween decor in my home, I try to stick with colors, metals, and textures that are already present. Adding a bright orange pumpkin to my living room would look out of place, so the black smokey glass pumpkin shown above is perfect!
The same concept applies with the kitchen items shown above. The bronze spider leg candy dish and the pumpkin cheese board could incorporate seamlessly with the items I already own and have on display in my kitchen.
How to incorporate items you already have
I think the easiest (and cheapest) way to add some spice to your seasonal decorating is using what you already have on hand! Candle sticks, candle holders, art, a serving platter; these are all items I typically have multiples of and can switch out between months and holidays. Also, think about colors and textures. What do you have on hand that gives off a more moody vibe? Black candlesticks in a gold candle holder, or a dark vase with moody faux fall florals. Think about this when you’re decorating for Fall and Halloween!
How will you incorporate Halloween decor into your home? I would love to hear your thoughts. Sound off in the comments!
